Advances in technology are answering a growing public demand for information regarding disaster prevention and relief. The "New Taipei City Disaster Information E-Point Access" is a platform designed for the general public to push real-time notifications on disaster prevention and relief information. The goal is to enhance public awareness and to achieve smart and intelligent disaster prevention.
"New Taipei City Disaster Information E-Point Access" is a 24-hour non-stop useful service system that integrates data from various sources, providing seven major categories of real- time disaster information: school and office closures, water and power outages, disaster- related traffic, alert areas, environmental health, event changes, and disaster prevention propaganda. Featuring earthquake early warnings, felt earthquake reports and heavy rain alerts in mountain areas, the system also helps to achieve proactive disaster prevention and immediate response. Another four convenient functions are also offered: real-time disaster information push, digital evacuation guides, E-Map disaster prevention images and a nationwide community for disaster prevention. With GPS in place, citizens can access information about disaster situations within a two-kilometer radius using mobile devices.
