Incidents of improper care in child-care facilities are frequently heard.. According to regulations, public and private daycare centers are required to install surveillance cameras and retain video files for 30 days to ensure that footage can be reviewed in case of disputes. However, in many precedents, camera malfunction, lack of footage or file deletion have caused problems in finding the truth. To ensure a smart and secure childcare environment, New Taipei City created the "Public Surveillance Cloud for Daycare” as an off-site backup to upload in real time the footage from IP cameras in
daycare facilities; the image data are encrypted and stored in the cloud.
The cloud also features real-time messaging and alerts. Notices will be sent out when cameras are malfunctioned so as to trigger rapid response and repair to ensure footages are well saved. In case of image tampering, administrators can download restored video files from the management platform. The goal is to prevent in advance, to retrieve files when incidents happen and to provide evidence when needed. The safety of children in daycare centers is of top priority, with no room for compromise.
The "Public Surveillance Cloud for Daycare" is set to incorporate at least 100 public daycare centers, safeguarding infants and children using smart technology.
