Take Taiwan into the world and bring the world to Taiwan.

As many as 3.3~3.6 billion people are now living in highly susceptible, vulnerable environments due to the impact of climate change. The upcoming 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) calls for countries worldwide to make climate commitments with bravery in order to speed the world up towards a net-zero economy.

Cathay Financial Holdings has been inviting major opinion leaders and experts from the government, industries, and academia in Taiwan and abroad each year since the inaugural hosting of its climate change summit in 2017. At this summit, opinion leaders and experts discuss the important trends and practices in corporate sustainability and climate change, which has become an essential channel for knowledge share as it relates to climate change in Taiwan.

This year, Cathay Financial Holdings is upholding the concept of “taking Taiwan into the world and bringing the world to Taiwan.” Cathay Financial Holdings is the first strategic partner for World Climate Foundation (WCF) in Taiwan and will live stream the COP27 Peripheral Conference – World Climate Summit (WCS) from Egypt during the summit. The sharing of experiences by major leaders from the Taiwan government, industries and academia will be important in helping Taiwan embrace the challenges and strategies forward to achieving net-zero carbon emission.
